OUR TEAM

Dan Pyke • Director of Y&F

Dan is a visionary and compassionate leader with a deep love for the local church.  With extensive experience as a youth and children’s pastor, Dan also has experience in camping ministry and post-secondary student development.  Prior to leading as Director of Y&F, Dan served as a youth pastor in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick at CBAC churches. Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts from Crandall University, a Masters of Divinity and a Master of Arts from Acadia Divinity College, and has strengthened his leadership by completing the Arrow Leadership Program.

His favourite questions are “Why?” and “Will they still be following Jesus in ten years if we do (or don’t do) this?”

Dan is married to Lachelle, and they live in Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, with their four children.  Dan and his family love reading, camping, and hiking.

Laura comes to the CBAC with a background in next-generation ministry and nonprofit community development. In her various ministry roles, Laura has served as a pastor to children, youth, and young adults. Most recently she served as the Co-director of Youth, Young Adults, and Connections Ministries at First Baptist Charlottetown. She holds a bachelor’s degree from York University in Toronto, and hopes to pursue further education in the future. Laura has a passion for young people’s spiritual formation, and through her work, endeavours to build the kind of church they want to be a part of. She lives with her husband, Andrew, and their two young children in downtown Charlottetown.

Jacqueline Derrah

Hi, I’m Jacqueline Derrah; wife to Darren and mother to Brittany and Emily.  I love spending time with my family, going camping, traveling and believe it or not, I love my job.

After working with the CABC for 15 years, I still love getting up and going to work every day!  I believe that God has invited me to join Him in the work that he’s doing in Atlantic Canada and I count it a privilege to serve with the CBACyf team.  I love hearing stories about how God is at work in children, youth and camp ministries all across our region.

I love seeing teens and young adults step into leadership and use the gifts that God has given to them.  It’s an honour to serve with pastors and volunteers in Atlantic Canada that are joining God in His mission.
