Each church bringing a group of students pays a one-time church registration fee of $150. After confirming its participant list, the church registers each student and leader at a cost of $250 per person (made in two payments, with an initial deposit due in spring 2027). 

The participant fee is the same for all students and leaders. 

All fees are non-refundable. However, a registration may be transferred to another participant from the same church. 

The 2027 participant fee is $250, compared with $150 at the past few Tidal Impact events. The updated fee reflects the current cost of delivering the week, including meals, accommodations for visiting participants, large-group activities, and rallies. We have worked to keep the fee as accessible as possible while providing a safe and meaningful experience. 

The participant fee includes most meals during the week, camp accommodations for visiting-church participants, costs associated with neighbouring projects, a large-group fun activity, rallies, and an event T-shirt. 

1. We’re in this together as a family of churches
   Tidal Impact is a partnership, and a shared rate is one small way we carry things together so no church ends up with a heavier share. It reflects the kind of mutual care we see throughout Scripture, where believers look out for one another (Galatians 6:2).
2. Hosting is a wonderful opportunity to serve
   Hosting gives a congregation the chance to welcome others and see their own youth serve right in their community, with an impact that lasts long after the event. We’re so grateful for host churches and see hosting as a gift they offer to the whole Tidal Impact family.
3. Keeping things fair for travelling groups
   Travelling churches often take on significant costs we can’t reimburse, with some groups even flying in. A lower host rate would shift more of the cost onto those who are already investing the most to attend.
4. Everyone shares the same experience
   Every participant enjoys the same rallies, serving opportunities, and fun events, and the fee supports those shared parts of the event rather than lodging or meals. That means the cost per participant is the same whether they’re hosting or travelling.
5. Simple and consistent over time
   Since hosting rotates, with some churches hosting now and then and others always travelling, one rate keeps things balanced and easy to plan for across the years. [If cost is ever a barrier for a church, we’d love for them to reach out so we can talk about options.]

Visiting churches 

Participating visiting churches are responsible for travel to the host region, transportation for their own group throughout the week (e.g. getting to/from neighbouring projects), one supper, and participants’ personal spending money for optional snacks or souvenirs. 

Host churches 

Participating host churches will cover the cost of some neighbouring projects and help provide some snacks and lunches for the visiting churches with which they are partnered. 

Participants from host churches will stay in their own homes because they live within the host region. 

Most visiting-church participants will stay at Camp Evangeline in Debert, approximately 15 minutes from Truro, Nova Scotia. CBAC NextGen will coordinate these accommodations and provide participating churches with room assignments and further details. Some visiting groups may be placed in nearby alternative accommodations as those become confirmed. 

Camp Evangeline is well equipped to accommodate hundreds of students and leaders and to provide most of the meals included in the event. Staying together at the camp also supports the shared Tidal Impact experience. Each participating church is responsible for collecting the required waiver forms from its students and following its own abuse-prevention policies. New guidelines now also require churches to submit copies of current background checks to CBAC NextGen for every leader attending with their group. This updated process helps confirm that all student groups are accompanied by appropriately screened leaders and that churches have adequate supervision in place for both male and female students. 

CBAC and Camp Evangeline will follow their own abuse-prevention and response policies for all other participants involved in the event, including guests and camp staff.
