The Youth and Family Department is a department of the Canadian Baptist of Atlantic Canada. If you hang out with us long enough you will hear us ask this question "Will you join God's mission to change Atlantic Canada one neighbourhood at a time"? Our vision is to see every youth, children, and camp ministry answer the call to train and send the next generation as missionaries into the everyday rhythms of life. Our mandate is to help these ministries by being a resource to the ministry leaders to fulfill this vision.

Rev. Renée Embree ran into God’s grace as a young adult and continues to be changed by that grace every day. Renée has a passion to see everyone join God in changing Atlantic Canada one neighborhood at a time. She serves as the Director of Youth and Family Ministries for the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada and as the Director of the Youth & Young Adult Ministry Program at Acadia Divinity College. Renée is a graduate of Acadia Divinity College having received her Master of Divinity degree in 2006 and her Master of Arts (Theology) in 2008. She has served as an Associate Pastor in Dalbeattie, Scotland; North and South Alton Baptist Church; and at RiverCross Church. She lives in Saint John, NB and can often be found running along an ocean path or enjoying a good book and good cup of coffee on her sun-porch.

I have a confession. I really love board games. More specifically, I enjoy reading the instructions to board games in my free time. If you aren’t weirded out yet here are a few more things you should know about me. When I’m not playing board games I enjoy camping as well as learning how to pull the perfect espresso shot. I've got #3kidsunder5. I’ve been married to my gorgeous wife Courtney for 10 years. I’m originally from Hampden, ME. We currently live in Saint John, NB and when I’m not trying to change the world with Renee and Jacqueline, I'm part of a intentional Christian community that is trying its best to live incarnationally amongst our neighbours.
Hi, I’m Jacqueline Derrah; wife to Darren and mother to Brittany and Emily. I love spending time with my family, going camping, traveling and believe it or not, I love my job. After working with the CABC for 15 years, I still love getting up and going to work every day! I believe that God has invited me to join Him in the work that he’s doing in Atlantic Canada and I count it a privilege to serve with Renee & Andrew. I love hearing stories about how God is at work in children, youth and camp ministries all across our region. I love seeing teens and young adults step into leadership and use the gifts that God has given to them. It’s an honour to serve with pastors and volunteers in Atlantic Canada that are joining God in His mission.
The Y&F Team can't do what they do on their own. We cannot reach each neighbourhood on our own. We rely heavily on the guidance and input of youth leaders across Atlantic Canada. Some of our youth leaders have stepped up to be champions for the Y&F team. They are committed to being a resource to those around them, give guidance to the Y&F team, and carry the vision of "One Neighbourhood at a time" wherever they go.
