The Youth and Family Department is a department of the Canadian Baptist of Atlantic Canada. If you hang out with us long enough you will hear us ask this question "Will you join God's mission to change Atlantic Canada one neighbourhood at a time"? Our vision is to see every youth, children, and camp ministry answer the call to train and send the next generation as missionaries into the everyday rhythms of life. Our mandate is to help these ministries by being a resource to the ministry leaders to fulfill this vision.

My name is Renée Embree, I was born in Halifax, NS moved around quite a bit during my childhood and spent my teen years in Ottawa, ON but have always kept being pulled back to Atlantic Canada. I ran into God’s grace (quite literally) as a young adult, while attending Simon Fraser University on the West Coast. That grace continues to amaze me, confuse me, transform me and call me to more. While this calling goes beyond any one role, I currently get to live out this passion and vision through serving as the Director of Youth and Family Ministries and as the Director of the Youth and Young Adult Ministry Program at Acadia Divinity College (http://www.acadiadiv.ca/). You can follow me @r_embree.
I have a confession. I really love board games. More specifically, I enjoy reading the instructions to board games in my free time. If you aren’t weirded out yet here are a few more things you should know about me. When I’m not playing board games I enjoy camping as well as learning how to pull the perfect espresso shot. I have a 4 year old daughter (Audrey) and a 2 year old son (Titus). I’ve been married to my gorgeous wife (Courtney) for 9 years. I’m originally from Hampden, ME. We currently live in Saint John, NB and when I’m not trying to change the world with Renee and Jacqueline, I lead a church plant (Rooftop Community) that we’ve been planting for the past two years. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @Drewsie83 and peak in once in awhile to see what God is doing at Rooftop.
Hi, I’m Jacqueline Derrah; wife to Darren and mother to Brittany and Emily. I love spending time with my family, going camping, traveling and believe it or not, I love my job. After working with the CABC for 15 years, I still love getting up and going to work every day! I believe that God has invited me to join Him in the work that he’s doing in Atlantic Canada and I count it a privilege to serve with Renee & Andrew. I love hearing stories about how God is at work in children, youth and camp ministries all across our region. I love seeing teens and young adults step into leadership and use the gifts that God has given to them. It’s an honour to serve with pastors and volunteers in Atlantic Canada that are joining God in His mission.
The Y&F Team can't do what they do on their own. We cannot reach each neighbourhood on our own. We rely heavily on the guidance and input of youth leaders across Atlantic Canada. Some of our youth leaders have stepped up to be champions for the Y&F team. They are committed to being a resource to those around them, give guidance to the Y&F team, and carry the vision of "One Neighbourhood at a time" wherever they go.
